Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a non-progressive neurological condition that affects a child’s movement, posture, muscle tone, and coordination due to early brain injury or abnormal brain development. Symptoms may appear in infancy or early childhood and can vary in severity, affecting mobility, balance, speech, feeding, and daily activities.
At SYNAPSE Pediatric Neurodevelopment & Early Intervention Clinic, we focus on early identification and functional assessment to understand how Cerebral Palsy impacts each child’s development. Our evaluations help identify motor challenges, muscle tone issues, and associated developmental concerns to guide appropriate intervention.
Under the care of Dr. Amola Khandwala, individualized, multidisciplinary intervention plans are developed to support mobility, communication, and independence. These plans may include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and parent education tailored to the child’s needs and abilities.
With early therapy and consistent follow-up, children with Cerebral Palsy can improve functional skills, participation in daily activities, and overall quality of life. Our family-centered approach emphasizes realistic goals, continuous support, and empowerment of both the child and family throughout their developmental journey.
